Division
VocabularyA dividend is the number that is being divided or shared (the total number of items you are starting with).
A divisor is the number that divides the dividend. This is the number of ways something needs to be shared (groups). A quotient is the number, not including remainder, that results from dividing. In other words, this is the answer to the division problem without the remainder. A remainder is the amount left over after division when one divisor does not divide the dividend exactly.
