Benchmarks and Comparing Fractions
VocabularyDenominator - The bottom number of the fraction. This tells how many parts the whole is divided into.
Numerator - The top number of the fraction. This tells how many parts you are taken (how many are shaded). Benchmark - A benchmark is a known size or amount that helps you understand a different size or amount. NotesIf you are comparing fractions without using benchmarks, you must find a common denominator BEFORE you compare them.
